It's all about the dressThe day my oldest daughter brought home her prom dress, the wheels in my head started turning! I knew that I just had to create some art, to go outside of typical "portraits" and flex my creative muscle.. She became my model, because it was her dress, and also because she has grown up in front of my camera and knows just what I want even when I can't articulate it. There are some woods very near my house. I knew that I wanted to do something ethereal, placing something so formal in an informal setting. The image above came out just as I had envisioned. With a bit of editing to get the right color and feel, this is one of my favorites. Having a theater kid, I was able to raid their prop closet for this great chair that added just the right feel. I am blessed that she has great hair and that I know how to work with it. Couldn't have been happier with how that came out as well. Right near the woods there is this large concrete structure. I have no idea what it's original purpose was, only that it has been there for a very long time, and became a wonderful frame for these images. She's like a princess, lost in the woods. I am very happy with these images, and the story that they tell. I love being able to create something different. Something that is really just for me, but that I hope others enjoy as much as I do. - Janell
